For the past 9 years, we’ve been supporting the entire ecosystem & empowering the Lambani ladies and cotton & khadi weavers in and around Vijayapura through our initiative in the fashion industry; encouraging them to learn new weaving & embroidery techniques and patterns. Even during the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued to support the artisans financially, without any pay cuts.
The House Of Banjara is an initiative that not only aims to bring dignity, social security, and financial independence to the Lambani ladies but also to preserve their clothing traditions by inculcating their heritage into modern-day clothing. Each Banjara product line is sustainable, hand-selected, meticulously curated, intricatedly designed and has a story, origin and vindication of its own.

Karnataka, in Couture
Unveiled on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, this couture look is a celebration of Karnataka’s living tradition of Lambani embroidery — an ode to the extraordinary artistry of the Lambani artisans of the Banjara Kasuti Organisation, Bijapur, and the generations of knowledge carried through their hands.
Rendered in lustrous South Indian silk, the piece unfolds through 80 hours of intricate hand embroidery, each stitch bearing the intimacy, patience, and precision of artisanal craftsmanship.
Here, heritage is not preserved in stillness, but transformed through couture. The distinctive visual language of Lambani embroidery is elevated into a contemporary expression of Indian luxury, where ancestral artistry meets the refinement of the international red carpet.
From the ateliers of Bijapur to Cannes, this is a story of hands, heritage, and time — a meeting of ancestral craft and modern couture, meticulously imagined and brought to life for the world.
